My name is Daan Geuke, I'm a Media & Entertainment Management Student and I got a passion for filmmaking.
I've always enjoyed being socially involved. Since childhood I enjoyed making video's. It all began with the making of video game montages. My friends and I could spend a whole afternoon trying to get the best clips. It's no suprise to say that the video's we made back then were horrible. But I really enjoyed the whole process of interacting and playing around with friends to make the best possible video. Back then I think my passion for filmmaking began.
In the following years my love for filmmaking continued. I went to the movies serval times a month, I would check out behind the scenes video's on YouTube and whenever I got the chance my school papers would go about something film related. During high school I didn't spent that much time in the making of video's. But my knowlege about the subject increased each day. After I finished High School in 2014 it was pretty clear I wanted to work in the entertainment business. So without much hesitation I decided to go follow the study Media & Entertainment Mangement.
During my time as a Media & Entertainment Management student I've really got the chance to let my passion for video making grow. Not only have I learnt how to produce and edit video's, but I've also learnt about the marketing side of filmmaking. I met many talented people who share the same passion for filmmaking as I do. Working together as a team became second nature to me. The thing I love about working in the entertainment industry is the freedom and creativity it brings with it. My university really gave me the opportunity to put that freedom of creativity to good use. At the moment I'm in my third year of college and looking for an internship which can continue to help me develop as a person.
People ask me more than often what my plans for the future are? And if there are any jobs available in the industry? I allways reply that if you have the heart and the skill , there will allways be a spot for you. I believe that good talent shouldn't go to waste. I enjoy what I do and want to make a living out of it. My dreamjob is to work as an producer at a big movie set. In my opinion it's good to have dreams. But in the end, I'll be more than happy to work together with people who share the same passion as I do.
